Travis Bretzer emerges in 2019 with a new addition to his catalog of off-kilter bedroom pop. The track in question is “Love Is of Me.” An autobiographical account of a friendship lost. In the throes of longing, Bretzer recounts his past actions and missteps. The tune begins with nervous speculation but eventually arrives at a pivotal realization. You get what you give. These inherent truths are the bedrock of Bretzer’s new LP “Renaissance” which examines the process of rebirth and revitalization. Something Bretzer knows all too well after being sidelined with the autoimmune disorder Crohn’s disease. For much of his twenties Travis lost weight, lost hair, at points he was gaunt and frail. Bretzer had to come to terms with his mortality in an inescapable way. Luckily he was fortunate to be treated by a series of very skilled physicians and has been steadily regaining his health. With the new LP on the way slated for fall of 2019, It looks like this very well could be a return to form for Travis.





A note from Travis:



“Hey, thanks for taking the time to read this. I wrote this song over the course of a couple of months. It was inspired by a friend of mine who moved away.



In the past, I’ve had the opportunity to record in studios but the vibe was never quite right. I decided to outfit my rickety old house with a man cave of sorts where I can make my tunes and play Nintendo. I prefer recording at home so much more. I like to imagine I’m preparing a home-cooked meal when I record. Full of love and care. It ain’t perfect but it gets the job done lol.



I wanted this song to sound a bit like Steely Dan and Lynyrd Skynyrd mixed with Neil Young, Al Perkins, and John Mayer. I’ll see ya real soon with another track. Cheers.
